Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) programme.
Could this support your family?
When family life feels dominated by conflict, anger or aggression, it can leave parents and carers feeling exhausted, isolated and unsure what to do next.
This is our 12-week Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) group for parents and carers who are experiencing high levels of conflict, anger or aggression at home.
The programme supports you to develop new ways of responding during difficult moments, while strengthening your relationship with your child.
Who is this for?
This programme is for parents and carers who are experiencing high levels of conflict, anger or aggression at home.
You might recognise some of these feelings:

-
You feel like you’re walking on eggshells, unsure what might happen next.
-
You’ve tried different approaches, but they haven’t helped things improve.
-
You’re looking for new ways to respond when emotions are running high.
The programme is designed to support parents of young people who are aged 11 – 18 based in West Yorkshire.
What is Non-Violent Resistance (NVR)?
Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) is a relationship-based approach inspired by the principles of figures such as Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.
At its heart is the belief that calm, persistent and non-violent responses can create the space for change, even when situations feel overwhelming.
Rather than trying to force a child or young person to change, NVR focuses on helping parents and carers change their own responses.

A space to reflect and learn
This isn’t a slideshow that you sit through.
Our NVR programme creates space for conversation, reflection and shared learning.
Parents bring their own experiences, questions and challenges, and together we explore what’s working, what isn’t, and what small changes could make a meaningful difference.

Every family is different. The aim isn’t to give you a script, but to help you find an approach that fits your family while helping you feel calmer, more supported and less alone.
