About Northorpe

We’re a West Yorkshire-based charity, supporting children, young people, and families for over 60 years.
We focus on wellbeing, mental health, and neurodiversity, and while we work with schools and other organisations, we run things independently.
Everything we do is shaped by the families we work with, helping children and young people thrive.
Our services include therapy and wellbeing sessions, youth mentoring, and family activities.
We also run training for parents and professionals, and pilot projects like Me + My Normal, giving extra support for children with Autism, ADHD, or other needs.
Our Goals
At Northorpe, our goal is simple: To help children and young people overcome challenges and have the best chance to grow, learn, and thrive, no matter what life throws at them.
-
Transforming Young Lives: Supporting children and young people who face difficulties or disadvantage.
-
Creating Opportunities: High-quality services that meet the real needs of the children and families we work with.
-
Giving Them a Voice: Ensuring the views of young people are heard by the adults who can make a real difference.
And we will achieve that through our:
-
Team of experienced and dedicated staff and volunteers.
-
Proven programmes supporting wellbeing, confidence, and resilience.
-
Focus on children and families facing challenges or disadvantage.
-
Inclusive and collaborative approach with schools and communities.
Our vision is a world where all young people have good mental health most of the time, and the support and relationships they need to recover quickly when they face challenges.
Our mission is to transform young lives, every day.
