Why Mentoring Matters
Mentoring gives young people a safe space to be heard, build confidence, and cope with challenges.
Through regular support, encouragement, and guidance, mentees can:
- Feel understood and valued.
- Develop coping skills for school, home, or friendships.
- Gain confidence in themselves and their abilities.
- Explore goals, interests, and new opportunities.
As a mentor, you’ll witness growth, celebrate achievements, and gain rewarding experiences along the way.

What You’ll Do as a Mentor
-
Meet one-to-one with your mentee regularly.
-
Listen, support, and guide without judging.
-
Help them build confidence and coping skills.
-
Attend mentor training and receive ongoing support from Northorpe*
* All mentors receive training, guidance, and supervision, and you’ll have access to resources, advice, and a community of fellow mentors.
The Northorpe Team are here to support you every step of the way.
